Posted by Roy Pittman, 56, resident of Davenport Florida, founder and co-owner of Purple Crank Sports Apparel, recently retired after 32 years of service from the transportation and logistics industry. Retirement has not slowed him down any. Roy proves that at this day in age people still can retire in their 50’s and keep fit.
Four weeks into his retirement, Roy remains very active. His online sports apparel business is closer to opening. and he also just completed another triathlon.
In its 14th year, the Longboat Key triathlon was hosted by First Watch Cafe, at the Longboat Key Club Resort. Post-race, Pittman said “He didn’t think he did too well.” Roy did very well, it is the second consecutive year that he placed first in his age group.
During the July interview, Roy said “He had been participating in triathlons for 10 months.” Completing the Longboat Key Triathlon on Dec 1, 2019 now puts Roy still going strong at 15 months and counting. Roy says “He is planning to participate in the Challenge Daytona triathlon, at the Daytona International Speedway on December 15, 2019.”
